ACCOMMODATIONS OF INLAND NAVIGATION VESSELS
(19 November 2018)

The CESNI/PT Working Group has acknowledged different points of views regarding the need of modernisation of the technical requirements currently applicable to accommodation areas (ES-TRIN, Chapter 15).

At this stage, it has been considered premature to already examine a draft amendment of the technical requirements. Therefore, on 19 November 2018, the CESNI/PT Working Group organised a workshop on housing on inland waterway vessels in order to gather experience on current practice, describe the problems encountered and identify the corresponding regulatory needs.

This workshop brought together representatives of CESNI members, observer states and recognised organisations, as well as the shipping industry and external experts with specific knowledge on accommodations in inland navigation vessels.
