The joint meetings of the inspection bodies are held periodically to ensure close cooperation between the experts of the Inspection bodies, technical services and approved classification societies respectively, as well as developing common interpretations of technical requirements for inland navigation vessels. After the previous meetings in Budapest (2008), Wroclaw (2012), Vienna (2018), and Zagreb (2023), the Netherlands offered to host the next meeting under the auspices of CESNI from 15 to 17 September 2026 in Rotterdam.
This meeting has three main objectives:
To inform the experts in the field about how CESNI works, as well as the main developments in the ES-TRIN (new elements of ES-TRIN 2025) and the international regulatory frameworks.
Exchange of experience between the experts of the Inspection bodies, technical services and approved classification societies, as well as representatives of the national authorities, on the application of the technical requirements.
Exchanges between the experts responsible for drafting the regulations and those responsible for applying them. This will be an opportunity to provide feedback on difficulties encountered in interpreting the technical requirements and propose interpretations in a coordinated manner.
